Mission House
The mission house is available to individuals and families who need inexpensive housing and have a set goal. The mission house is not emergency shelter like that provided by the Salvation Army. When an individual enters the mission house, they normally plan on remaining in the mission house program for several months. They must be willing to submit to the rules of the Second Temple Outreach Committee. Since the mission house residents, pay little or no rent, they are able to save money, and they are able to reach their goals by taking advantage of the other programs that our ministry offers.
Youth Explosion
Each fourth Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
Purpose:
1) Bring boys and girls to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
2) Encourage young individuals to let their light shine for Jesus by
being steadfast, unmovable, and always abounding in the work of the Lord.
3)
Resist the tricks of the devil by putting on the whole armor of God, and to
abstain from all appearances of evil.

History and Background Information
The Second Temple Church of Christ(Hol.)U.S.A. was established in the Georgetown area in the year of 1915. The church has maintained a strong presence in this community to this present day. The majority of our membership still live in this community, which has undergone significant changes. This area was viewed by many as a striving community with citizens who took pride in raising their families in this area. Now, in 1998, this community is greatly impoverished. Crime and drugs have greatly devastated this community, thus leading to a mass exit of citizens from this area which resulted in a great number of vacant housing. The church has been constantly striving to make a difference in this community. In the past the Second Temple Church has assisted the needs of the community in the following ways: Clothes Closet, Mississippi Food Network and Financial assistance to the homeless and needy. Currently, our church offers and provides the location for a tutoring program that works with the assistance of the Neighborhood Christian Center. In 1993, the Second Temple Community Outreach Foundation was established as an 501c3 organization to address the need of this community. The Church purchased five vacant properties and donated them to the Second Temple Community Outreach Foundation for community development. We are in the process of completing the funding for one of these properties to establish the Outreach Center.
Goals and Objectives
The goals and objectives of our ministry is to provide for the needy in the community through economic development and to see the lives of those in inner city of Jackson transformed spiritually, emotionally and physically. We anticipate expanding our outreach ministry as resources permit us.
We are a body of believers that are committed to the Great Commission. We believe that the Lord has placed us in our community to be the light of Christ and to enlarge the Kingdom of God. We are committed to preaching and teaching the truth of Gods word.
